Introducing the New GLC2k Non-Expandable Controller

Sterling, VA (January 6, 2003) . . . Gammaflux L.P. has introduced a new, low-cost hot runner temperature controller for up to 6 zones of control. The GLC2k non-expandable controller provides molders with an attractive option for purchasing Gammaflux-quality temperature control, with savings of up to 20% over the highly-popular Gammaflux GLC hot runner temperature control system.

The new GLC2k non-expandable controller is sold as a package, complete with a 12 ft. input power cable, 15 amp outputs, and standard cables with connectors. Many of the popular features of the GLC such as current measuring, operating limits and security levels are included as standard on this new controller, as is a 30 amp/240 VAC/3-phase delta circuit breaker.

Mike Brostedt, Gammaflux Director of Market Development, said that the GLC2k non-expandable has been sold by Gammaflux for 3 years in Asia, with great success. "Hundreds of these units are currently operating throughout Asia," he said. "The market there demanded lower prices for our products, so we decided to market our GLC without some of its standard features. The concept worked so well we've decided to offer these same products in North and South America."

Brostedt said that this new product introduction represents a continued trend by Gammaflux and other plastics primary and auxiliary equipment providers to offer optional versions of their standard products at lower prices.

"With this new product, we've taken out some of the standard features of our GLC2k controller that many molders don't necessarily want or need," he said. "By doing this, we're able to save them a lot of money. This 'everything you need - nothing you don't' strategy is becoming more popular these days throughout the industry, as processors continue to demand high quality products, but also need to cut costs."

Another example of this strategy is Gammaflux's recent introduction of its new TTC International Interface. This new interface provides a full-featured yet lower-cost option for molders who want the TTC system, but who don't want or need the advanced capabilities of the original TTC Touchscreen Interface Windows NT Operating System.

The new GLC2k non-expandable controller is the same Gammaflux GLC2k controller that has become the industry standard in hot runner control around the world since its introduction in 1998, minus some of the features and with a lower price. The biggest difference is that it's only available for up to 6 zones of control, while the standard GLC2k controls up to 36 zones.

Like all Gammaflux hot runner control products, the GLC2k non-expandable controller features Gammaflux-proprietary PID2 control algorithms, which help deliver smooth, accurate temperature control. Completely modular design allows for quick, easy control card addition and replacement.
