NEW MULTI-TIER GLC 2K HOT RUNNER TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER FROM GAMMAFLUX TO BE INTRODUCED AT PLASTICS FAIR CHICAGO

Control System Features Up To 36 Zones of Operation; Works With 15/30 Amp Zones on Conventional 240 Volt and 24 Volt Hot Runner Systems

Sterling, Va. (June 15, 1999) . . . Gammaflux will introduce its new Multi-Tier GLC 2K Hot Runner Temperature Controller at Plastics Fair Chicago, June 15-17, 1999.

The new Multi-Tier GLC 2K features up to 36 zones of modular control and is now available to molders and moldmakers worldwide. Like the single tier GLC 2K, which supports up to 12 zones of control and was rolled out at the K 98 show in Dusseldorf, Germany in October1998, the Multi-Tier has also been designed to meet the growing trend for quick delivery and in-field flexibility on a global basis. It is a product that is as close to an "off-the-shelf" hot runner temperature control system as possible, but unlike other off-the-shelf systems, it can be customized to meet each molder's unique requirements.

With a compact footprint and universally recognized icons on its faceplate, the Multi-Tier GLC 2K offers the same features as the single-tier GLC that make it appealing to molders around the globe. These features include:

  • modular enclosure packaging for compact size - footprint of 21" w x 21" d x 27 7/8" h (533mm x 533mm x 708mm).
  • icons on operator interface to identify control functions, process values and alarm status
  • Quick-Glance LED array on front panel for green light OK/red light not OK zone performance
  • RS-232 or RS-485 interface for digital communication capabilities for linking all zones with unique Gammaflux Gammavision, Mold Doctor and Field Calibrator mold/hot runner advanced diagnostic software
  • Euromap 17 communications protocol capable for communicating with other equipment or a plant-wide monitoring system
  • simple field selection capabilities for Type J or Type K thermocouple, degrees F or degrees C temperature configuration
  • internal/programmable security levels

Each control system supports up to 36 zones. The system is designed for simplicity and features one circuit breaker, one alarm output, and one communications port. Tiers pull out like drawers for easy access to modules. The Multi-Tier GLC 2K has also been designed for maximum flexibility and will work with hot runner systems operating with 15 or 30 Amp heaters, as well as low-voltage hot runners operating at 24 volts.

Complete information and technical specifications on the new Multi-Tier GLC 2K are available in a newly published product brochure. Basic and Advanced Quick-Reference Guides on the use of this product are also available. All literature has been published in multiple languages including English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish.
