GAMMAFLUX INTRODUCES SOFTWARE ENHANCEMENTS TO 9500 SERIES HOT RUNNER TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM

Enhanced Software Offers Users Mulitiple Ways to Improve Productivity

Sterling, Va. (January 12, 1999) . . . Gammaflux L.P. has introduced new software enhancements to its state-of-the-art 9500 Series hot runner temperature control system.

The first and most significant improvement is the addition of "TuneRite" software. Developed in response to the latest generation of hot runner nozzle technology, TuneRite automatically checks, then selects the optimum tuning ranges for control zones in the hot runner system. For example, TuneRite detects when a hot runner zone on the nozzle or tip is slow to achieve temperature setpoint, then automatically corrects the situation. TuneRite is now available as part of Gammaflux Mold Doctor software package. Mold Doctor is a fault analysis program that reports on the basic faults that can occur in a mold, including pinched and reversed thermocouples.

Another new software enhancement for the 9500 Series is the addition of PIN numbers that can be assigned for multiple operators. This allows users to program the system to require the insertion of PIN numbers before allowing programming changes. "This feature provides molders with a way to prevent unwanted changes to the control parameters," said Lee Jones, Director of Global Marketing for Gammaflux. "They can also maintain a log of who has made any changes to the control settings."

A third improvement to the system software is the addition of bitmap imagery, so an image of the hot runner manifold can be displayed on the 9500 Series operating screen. Control zones are identified on the image, along with a sidebar that displays the status of the particular zone and the process value for that zone.

Based in Sterling, Va. U.S.A., Gammaflux L.P. is a leading supplier of hot runner temperature control systems to the plastics injection molding industry. Long known for innovation in control technology, Gammaflux developed the first products to anticipate temperature changes, sense wiring and heater problems, and react instantly to avoid serious mold damage. Combining digital capabilities with precision analog control, Gammaflux systems enable the user to achieve centralized command of molding systems and retrieve critical data for performance analysis. The company serves the automotive, medical, packaging, electronics, household products, and tool building markets.
